J. S.Bach's Air from Orchestral Suite No. 3 ("Air on the G String") has been transcribed for many instruments, both solo and in combinations. This transcription is for four classical guitars, or for three classical guitars and cello. It is based on the 1913 Eulenburg Edition (Ernst Eulenburg, Ltd., 36-38 Dean Street, London, W.I. by Prof. Wilh. Altmann.) This edition in turn was based on parts in the handwriting of J. S. Bach and by Karl Philipp Emanuel Bach in the Royal Library in Berlin. |
